Woven Geotextiles for the Job at Hand
Woven geotextiles are designed and fabricated for many different construction applications, especially for protecting and strengthening your construction. This type of synthetic fabric is used mostly for jobs that prioritize the separation and stabilization of building materials.
Separation to Bring the Project Together
Jobs with coarse, angular and abrasive materials like gravel usually require a separating layer between different elements. We install woven geotextiles between layers with granular disparity to keep them separate. However, “separate” does not have to mean “apart.” In this case, the separating woven geotextile enables the layers of material to join together without losing their structural integrity through incorporation.
What You Need to Know
Separation and stability will be your highest priority if your job works with many different aggregates. Put a woven geotextile under your dirt road, gravel driveway or another area of riprap with high-to-moderate traffic. The added layer keeps your road in place much longer than un-stabilized elements would stay in place themselves.
Woven Geotextile Structure
The materials used for woven geotextiles are specifically selected for their high tenacity. Polypropylene yarns are tightly woven into a stable network, which we install between your loose layers of dirt or rock. The fabric prevents layers from mixing together, reinforces the strength of the road and aids in proper water filtration through the layers of earth.
