M8 product Miramat® TM8*
Geosynthetic Rolled Erosion Control Mat (RECM) for Bare Soil Retention, Revegetation and Turf Reinforcement

DX2® offers a wide range of woven and nonwoven geotextiles for erosion control applications. These fabrics are cost-effective elements which improve and enhance modern construction techniques in a variety of civil engineering applications.

Product Description

Mirafi® Miramat® TM8 is a “total” geosynthetic rolled erosion control mat created to serve as both an Erosion Control, Revegetation Mat (ECRM) and Turf Reinforcement Mat (TRM).
Mirafi® Miramat® TM8 flexible three-dimensional structure is composed of yarns tufted into an open woven fabric.
Mirafi® Miramat® TM8 is thick, highly porous, and very flexible, all of which enhance the mat’s ability to nurture vegetative growth. This unique construction produces a strong mat which is used in conjunction with topsoil and seed to create strong, durable and continuous soil/root mat matrices, and providing erosion protection, greatly enhancing the water flow resistance of vegetation.

Features and Benefits

Mirafi® Miramat® TM8 exhibits ground cover characteristics similar to biodegradable blankets, yet is ultraviolet stabilized to provide for a much longer useful product life than biodegradable blankets. It combines the short-term soil restraint and vegetation nurturing provided by revegetation blankets and mats, and the long-term enhancement of vegetation stability associated with reinforcement matrices. During and after vegetation establishment, Mirafi® Miramat® TM8 3-D structure traps sediments and encourages good integration of the soil/root mat with the underlying subsoil. All this while providing complete and intimate cover of the seeded subsoil surface. Its extra wide and long roll dimensions, accompanied by proper installation procedures, discourage flows under or around the mat.
